Brain wave timing boosts depression therapy?

NCT ID NCT03421808

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tested a new way to treat depression using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Instead of delivering pulses at random times, the researchers timed the pulses to match the brain's natural alpha rhythm. They wanted to see if this synchronized approach would work better than standard TMS. The study included 34 adults with depression who were already on stable medication.
