Can brain scans predict Post-Surgery confusion in seniors?

NCT ID NCT06394778

Summary

This study aims to understand if changes in brain wave patterns during and after surgery can help predict which older patients might develop postoperative delirium—a temporary state of confusion. Researchers will monitor brain activity using EEG in 375 patients aged 60+ undergoing joint or spine surgery. The goal is to find early warning signs so doctors can better identify and manage patients at risk.
