Brain waves tracked during routine scopes reveal deep sedation patterns

NCT ID NCT07073274

First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looked at brain activity (EEG) in 149 adults during anesthesia for outpatient stomach or colon exams. Doctors used standard sedation drugs, and researchers recorded brain wave patterns to see how deep the sedation was. The goal was to learn more about anesthesia effects, not to test a new treatment.
