Chemical exposure during pregnancy linked to birth defect risk?
NCT ID NCT06628375
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looks at whether certain chemicals found in everyday products (called endocrine disruptors) increase the chance of a baby boy being born with hypospadias, a condition where the urinary opening is not at the tip of the penis. Researchers will compare mothers of boys with hypospadias to mothers of boys without it, using hair samples and questionnaires to measure chemical exposure during pregnancy. The goal is to better understand and potentially prevent this birth defect.
