First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests two simple ways to help emergency department patients at risk for HIV start taking PrEP, a daily pill that prevents HIV. About 1,560 adults visiting the ER for sexual health concerns will be offered one of two low-burden strategies to get PrEP. The goal is to see which approach works better at getting people started on PrEP within three months, especially in communities hit hardest by HIV.
