ER doctors try new tactic: stop future illness before it starts
NCT ID NCT05680519
Summary
This pilot study tested whether a simple coaching program could help people visiting the emergency department change unhealthy habits. 150 adults with at least one risk factor (like smoking or poor diet) were randomly assigned to receive either standard health advice or a more supportive coaching program with follow-up messages. The main goal was to see if this approach was practical and could help people lead healthier lives to prevent diseases like heart disease and diabetes.
