Summary
This study tested whether inhaling a solution containing ectoin could reduce lung inflammation and help slow the worsening of lung function in people with COPD. It involved 36 older women who were non-smokers or former smokers. Researchers measured markers of inflammation in the lungs and tracked changes in breathing ability over time.
