Summary
This study aims to understand why electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) works for some people with severe depression but not others. Researchers will scan the brains and test blood and spinal fluid of 30 patients before and after ECT treatment to look for patterns. The goal is to find biological markers that can predict which patients are most likely to benefit from this powerful therapy.
