Doctors test dropping blood thinners for life support patients
NCT ID NCT04273607
Summary
This study is testing if a life support machine called VV-ECMO can be used safely without giving patients strong blood-thinning drugs. It will involve 40 adults with severe lung failure who are already on this machine. The goal is to see if skipping these drugs reduces bleeding risks without causing dangerous blood clots in the equipment or the patient.
