New blood thinner tested for critical Heart-Lung machine patients
NCT ID NCT06275555
Summary
This study is comparing two different blood-thinning medications (bivalirudin and heparin) for patients who need a heart-lung machine (ECMO) to stay alive. The goal is to see which drug works better to prevent dangerous blood clots while also causing fewer bleeding problems. Researchers will measure how often clots and serious bleeding happen in 154 adult patients randomly assigned to receive one of the two drugs.
