ER heart scan may speed up heart attack diagnosis

NCT ID NCT06860997

First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether a simple heart ultrasound measurement, called the S' wave, can help doctors quickly identify a heart attack or unstable angina in adults coming to the emergency room with chest pain. Researchers tested 66 patients who did not have obvious signs of a major heart attack on their first ECG. The goal was to see how accurate the S' wave is compared to the final diagnosis made after three months of follow-up.
