New ultrasound clue may speed up heart attack diagnosis in ER
NCT ID NCT06860997
First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looked at 66 adults who came to the emergency room with chest pain but no clear signs of a major heart attack on their first ECG. Researchers used a special heart ultrasound technique (tissue Doppler imaging) to measure the S' wave, a marker of heart muscle movement. The goal was to see if this quick, non-invasive test could help doctors identify acute coronary syndrome earlier and more accurately than standard methods.
