Doctors test heart valve surgery using only ultrasound
NCT ID NCT07035847
Summary
This study is testing whether doctors can safely replace a narrowed heart valve using only ultrasound imaging to guide them, instead of X-rays. Researchers will perform this procedure on 20 patients with severe aortic stenosis, where the heart's main valve has become dangerously narrow. They want to see if this approach reduces radiation exposure while still successfully replacing the valve.
