Facing the scale: new study tests if confronting weight fear helps heal eating disorders
NCT ID NCT06085092
Summary
This study is testing two different approaches to help teens and young adults with eating disorders manage their anxiety about weight gain. Researchers are comparing 'open weighing,' where patients see and discuss their weight, with 'blind weighing,' where they avoid focusing on the number. The goal is to see which method is more helpful for reducing eating disorder symptoms and improving overall health.
