First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looked at whether two simple, low-cost tools—Buzzy (a vibrating device) and HSTT (a cold spray)—can reduce pain and fear in children aged 4 to 6 when they get a shot in the emergency department. 120 children participated, and researchers measured their pain and fear using special picture scales. The goal is to find easy ways for nurses and midwives to make injections less scary for kids.
