Pill may ease gagging during unsedated scope test

NCT ID NCT07264738

Summary

This study is testing if taking an anti-nausea medication called ondansetron before an unsedated upper endoscopy can make the procedure more comfortable. It will compare patients who take the pill plus a standard throat numbing gel to those who only use the gel. The main goal is to see if the pill safely reduces gagging, nausea, and overall discomfort during the exam.
