Could a simple blood test replace painful bone marrow biopsies for cancer patients?

NCT ID NCT05625971

Summary

This study tested whether easier, non-invasive methods could replace painful bone marrow biopsies for tracking multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. Researchers compared blood tests and full-body MRI scans against the standard bone marrow procedure in 36 patients. The goal was to see if these less painful methods could accurately detect tiny amounts of remaining cancer after treatment.
