Study aims to replace painful bone marrow tests with simple blood draws and scans

NCT ID NCT05625971

Summary

This study tested whether easier methods—a simple blood draw and a full-body MRI scan—could accurately track tiny amounts of remaining cancer in people with multiple myeloma. It involved 36 adults with the disease, comparing these new methods against the current painful standard, a bone marrow biopsy. The goal is to find a reliable, less invasive way to monitor if treatment is working.
