Timing trial: does earlier stent removal prevent pancreatic problems?

NCT ID NCT07307248

Summary

This study tests whether removing a drainage stent earlier (at 2 weeks) with a smaller backup stent leads to fewer complications and less recurrence of pancreatic fluid collections compared to standard removal at 4 weeks. It involves 408 adults with a specific type of pancreatic complication called walled-off necrosis. The goal is to find the safest and most effective timing for stent management after the main drainage procedure.
