NCT ID NCT07460063
First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study will test if screening new mothers for postpartum depression at 2-3 weeks after birth, instead of the usual 6-8 weeks, helps identify signs earlier. Researchers will randomly assign 428 women who delivered at Massachusetts General Hospital to either early or routine screening. Participants will fill out a short depression questionnaire online, and their doctors will decide on any follow-up care. The study will follow each woman for 6 months to see if earlier screening makes a difference.
