Summary
This study looks at whether it is safe to stop antibiotics early in adults with high-risk blood cancers or those who have had stem cell or CAR T-cell therapy, once their fever has gone away. Many patients develop fever after treatment, but often no bacterial infection is found. The trial will compare early stopping of antibiotics to the usual practice of continuing until white blood cell counts recover. The goal is to reduce unnecessary antibiotic use and its side effects, while closely monitoring patients in the hospital for any signs of infection returning.
