Walk it off? trial tests faster recovery for broken ankles
NCT ID NCT05587842
Summary
This study is testing if patients can safely start putting weight on their surgically repaired ankle sooner than usual. It will compare the standard approach of staying off the foot for weeks against starting to walk as tolerated soon after surgery. The goal is to see if early walking leads to better function, a quicker return to work, and similar safety.
