Timing of gallbladder surgery after stone removal: does sooner mean better?

NCT ID NCT07517627

First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether having gallbladder surgery within 72 hours of a stone-clearing ERCP is better than waiting a month or more. About 40 adults with gallstones and bile duct stones will be randomly assigned to one of the two timing options. The main goal is to see how long the surgery takes, but the study will also track blood loss, hospital stay, and whether the surgery can be done with small incisions.
