Early intervention could halt skin color loss and stop Vitiligo's return
NCT ID NCT04843059
Summary
This study tested if treating vitiligo very early could stop the disease from spreading and prevent the white patches from returning after treatment. 51 adults with different stages of vitiligo received a standard combination of UV light therapy and low-dose steroid pills for 6 months. Researchers took small skin samples to see if the early treatment reduced the specific immune cells thought to cause the skin color loss and its recurrence.
