First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looks at whether doing an early belly ultrasound can help doctors diagnose serious digestive problems in premature babies. About 100 premature infants with symptoms like bloating, bleeding, or vomiting will get an early ultrasound. The goal is to see if this test, along with a physical exam and lab work, can better identify conditions like enterocolitis or bowel immaturity.
