Trial tests early surgery for Babies' spines

NCT ID NCT04527406

Summary

This study aimed to find out if performing surgery very early (ages 3-5) for a specific spinal birth defect is better than the standard approach. The standard approach is to use a back brace first and delay surgery until after age 5. The goal was to see if early surgery could correct the spine curve better and make the future operation shorter. The study was withdrawn before any children were enrolled.
