One-Sided surgery may spare prostate cancer patients unnecessary side effects
NCT ID NCT04271579
First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looks at men whose prostate cancer has come back after surgery, with new spots found on only one side of the pelvis using a special scan (PSMA PET). Doctors want to see if removing lymph nodes only on that one side works as well as removing them on both sides, which can cause more side effects like leg swelling. The goal is to control the cancer and delay the need for stronger treatments, not to cure it. About 397 men will take part.
