Parents' touch and play at home may boost preemie brain development
NCT ID NCT02835612
Summary
This study tested whether teaching parents to regularly do specific touch, movement, and play activities at home could improve the long-term brain and motor development of babies born very prematurely. It involved 138 families, comparing babies whose parents received this special training to those who received standard hospital care. The goal was to see if this continuous, parent-led approach could lead to better thinking, movement, and language skills by the time the children reached 18 months old.
