Brain scan breakthrough could spot Parkinson's sooner

NCT ID NCT02488395

Summary

This study tested whether a special brain scan (fMRI) could help diagnose Parkinson's disease earlier. Researchers scanned the brains of 23 newly diagnosed patients and healthy volunteers to see if a specific area involved in vision reacts differently. The goal was to find a new biological marker for earlier detection, not to treat symptoms.
