Brain pacemaker trial aims to slow Parkinson's progression

NCT ID NCT06008717

Summary

This study is testing whether a specific type of deep brain stimulation (DBS) can safely slow down the worsening of movement symptoms in people with early-stage Parkinson's disease. Researchers will implant a 'brain pacemaker' in 40 participants and compare two different stimulation settings to see if one is better at delaying disease progression. The goal is to see if this targeted stimulation can help people maintain their movement abilities for longer.
