Blood test breakthrough could spot Parkinson's years before symptoms

NCT ID NCT06941012

Summary

This study aims to develop a simple blood test to detect Parkinson's disease in its earliest stages, before major symptoms appear. Researchers will follow 1,200 people (600 with Parkinson's and 600 without) for two years, analyzing tiny particles in their blood for specific protein patterns linked to the disease. The goal is to create a reliable, non-invasive test that could allow for earlier diagnosis and better disease management for millions of people.
