New approach aims to stop immune attack on bone marrow sooner

NCT ID NCT04304820

Summary

This study is testing if starting two oral medications (cyclosporine and eltrombopag) at home soon after diagnosis can help control severe aplastic anemia, a rare and serious blood disorder, while patients prepare for standard hospital treatment. Researchers want to see if this early start is safe and can reduce ongoing damage to the bone marrow. The study involves 80 participants aged 3 and older who have not yet received treatment for this condition.
