Early movement after heart artery treatment may reduce back pain
NCT ID NCT07475273
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether starting gentle movement earlier than usual can reduce back pain in people who have had a procedure to open blocked heart arteries. After this procedure, patients often lie flat for hours, which can cause back pain. The study will compare early mobilisation with standard bed rest in 66 adults aged 30 to 75.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
early mobilisation (gradual movement under nurse supervision)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple way to reduce back pain and improve comfort for patients after a common heart procedure.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 66 participants. The results may not apply to all patients, and early movement might not be safe for everyone.
