New blood test aims to catch kidney damage hours sooner

NCT ID NCT07197957

Summary

This study is testing if a blood test for a protein called cystatin C can detect kidney injury caused by imaging dye earlier than the standard creatinine test. It will enroll 100 adult inpatients with chronic kidney disease who are having a CT scan or heart angiogram. The goal is to see if the new test provides a faster warning, allowing doctors to intervene sooner to protect the kidneys.
