Hugging saves tiny lives: early skin contact tested for premature babies

NCT ID NCT07259486

Summary

This study tested whether starting a special care method called Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) very early helps small, preterm babies. KMC involves holding the baby skin-to-skin with a parent to keep them warm and support breastfeeding. Researchers compared starting KMC within the first day of life against standard hospital care for 100 babies to see if it improved survival, health, and feeding.
