Pedaling in bed: new study tests quicker spine surgery recovery

NCT ID NCT07506720

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether using a special stationary bike while lying in bed, the day after spine surgery, helps people get moving sooner. About 88 adults having elective spine surgery will either get standard care or add a 30-minute in-bed cycling session. Researchers will track how much time they spend in bed and how long they stay in the hospital.
