Scientists test new HIV vaccine formulas in search for protection

NCT ID NCT04177355

Summary

This early-stage study tested the safety and immune response of two experimental HIV vaccine candidates in healthy adults who do not have HIV. The 127 participants received different versions of the vaccines, which were mixed with substances called adjuvants designed to boost the body's reaction. The main goal was to see if the vaccines were safe and if they triggered an immune response, not to test if they prevent HIV infection.
