New heart failure drug tested during hospital stay to keep patients home

NCT ID NCT07397650

Summary

This study is testing whether starting a medication called finerenone early during a hospital stay for heart failure helps patients recover better and stay out of the hospital longer. Researchers will enroll 550 adults hospitalized with acute heart failure who have stable blood pressure and certain heart function levels. Participants will receive either finerenone or a placebo pill starting within 36 hours of admission to see if early treatment improves outcomes over 12 weeks.
