New drug aims to stop second heart attacks in High-Risk patients

NCT ID NCT07208006

Summary

This study is testing if giving a powerful cholesterol-lowering drug (a PCSK9 inhibitor) very early in the hospital, right after a heart attack, can help prevent future heart problems. It will involve about 1,500 people who have had a heart attack and have multiple blocked arteries. The goal is to see if this early, intensive treatment on top of standard care leads to fewer heart attacks, strokes, or deaths over the next year.
