Pedaling for paralysis: new hope for spinal cord injury recovery
NCT ID NCT07472985
Summary
This study is testing if starting seated leg cycling exercises very early—within the first week after a severe spinal cord injury—can help. Researchers want to see if this early movement can reduce common complications like pneumonia and pressure sores, and improve patients' movement, sensation, and independence up to a year after the injury. They will compare results to patients who did not receive this early exercise therapy.
