Groundbreaking study aims to spot hidden vision problems in babies before It's too late

NCT ID NCT07275021

Summary

This study aims to better understand and identify early signs of Cerebral/Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI), a brain-based vision problem that is the leading cause of childhood visual impairment. Researchers will follow 60 high-risk infants—including those born very early or with certain brain injuries—from birth through age 2, using brain scans and developmental check-ups. The goal is to create a model for earlier detection so children can get vision and developmental support sooner, potentially improving their long-term quality of life.
