New test aims to catch deadly virus sooner in transplant patients
NCT ID NCT07210242
Summary
This study is testing a new, more sensitive blood test to detect a dangerous virus called cytomegalovirus (CMV) in patients who have received a stem cell transplant. The goal is to see if this new test can find the virus earlier than the current standard test, allowing doctors to start treatment sooner. Researchers will enroll about 300 transplant patients and their donors to compare the two testing methods.
