Can parent coaching starting at 6 months change Autism's course?
NCT ID NCT03307057
Summary
This study tested whether teaching parents how to support their infant's social development very early can improve outcomes for children showing signs of autism. Researchers enrolled 269 families with infants as young as 6 months old, some at higher risk for autism. They compared a web-based parent education program to usual care, and for infants showing early signs, compared parent-led therapy to clinician-led therapy. The goal was to find cost-effective, community-friendly ways to help children develop better communication skills.
