Zap your ear, calm your mind? study tests novel stress relief for students

NCT ID NCT07411846

Summary

This study tested whether a gentle, non-invasive electrical stimulation on the ear could help reduce feelings of stress and psychological distress in university students. Researchers compared a real stimulation treatment to a fake 'sham' treatment in 40 students who reported high distress levels. Participants received five short daily sessions and reported their stress levels before, after, and one month later to see if the treatment helped.
