Zapping ear nerves to fight Kids' sickle cell pain

NCT ID NCT07090668

Summary

This study is testing a small, non-invasive device that gently stimulates nerves in the ear to help manage pain in children hospitalized with sickle cell disease. The main goal is to see if this approach is practical and acceptable for kids, while also checking if it might reduce their pain levels and the need for strong pain medications. Researchers hope this could offer a safer alternative to long-term opioid use.
