Ear stimulation tested to calm blood pressure during heart procedures

NCT ID NCT06784583

Summary

This study tested whether gentle electrical stimulation of a nerve in the ear could help control blood pressure spikes during heart stent procedures. Researchers enrolled 480 adults with high blood pressure who were having coronary stents placed. Participants were randomly assigned to receive either real nerve stimulation or a sham treatment to compare effects on blood pressure during the procedure.
