First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a new technology called optical coherence tomography (OCT) can help doctors more accurately diagnose ear infections in children. About 235 children with ear complaints will get a standard exam plus an OCT scan. Researchers will compare how often antibiotics or surgery are recommended with and without the OCT results.
