Ear needles tested to ease breast cancer drug pain

NCT ID NCT03096041

Summary

This study tested whether ear acupuncture (auriculotherapy) could reduce joint and muscle pain caused by common breast cancer medications called aromatase inhibitors. Researchers enrolled 197 postmenopausal women who had experienced this pain for at least three months. Participants were randomly assigned to receive either real ear acupuncture or a placebo version to see if the real treatment provided better pain relief.
