First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a special mix of essential amino acids (with extra leucine) could help elderly people with COPD build muscle better than a standard protein supplement. 34 participants received both types of supplements on separate days, and researchers measured changes in protein building and breakdown. The goal was to understand if targeting specific amino acid levels could reverse muscle loss common in COPD.
