Acupuncture meets brain zaps: new combo therapy for stroke recovery
NCT ID NCT07113990
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests whether combining electroacupuncture with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) improves arm and leg movement after a stroke better than rTMS alone. About 180 adults who had their first stroke 2 weeks to 6 months ago will receive either real or sham electroacupuncture alongside standard rTMS. Researchers will measure motor function using standard tests and brain scans to see how the treatments work.
